My first photo shoot with my Twilight Purple M340i

So a few days after getting my car, I left my car at ONEighty as they’ve always taken care of me and my cars, since me and the owner go years back.

I had the following installed on my car, with more future things planned as well:

Install black front grill
Install black bumper trim
Install iND color matched front/rear reflectors and mirror caps
Install OEM M Performance side skirts, front lip and carbon fiber spoiler
NDVinyls wrapped my roof in carbon fiber vinyl
NDVinyls made all BMW emblems black and white
ONEighty Powdercoated the exhaust ‘tips’ black
ONEighty Painted calipers in acid green
Tinted the windows 20%
Hardwire dashcam and radar detector
Installed ONEighty front and rear wheel spacers

Future plans include a downpipe, tune, exhaust, springs, painted headlights

Enjoy the pics!

My new M340i in Oxford Green Individual

Hi,

check out my lovely 3 series in oxford green.

I’m very satisfied that i chose this color. I always wanted something unique.

The next steps will be mounting some M-Performance parts including the CF flaps on the front, CF diffuser, CF spoilerlip, M-steering wheel, maybe later the performance brakes and of course 20 inch wheels such as (hopefully sooner or later) the KW V3 suspension.

Hope you’ll enjoy it as much as i do!

Delivery of my Twilight Purple M340i!

So after driving my F80 Jahre M3 the last 3 years in NYC, and my lease ending in December, I decided to order an m340 instead but wanted it to be special. At first wanted tanzanite blue, because that’s what I wanted my M3 to be before I was offered a deal I couldn’t resist on the Jahre, and then I realized an individual color was only an additional $2500 more than Tanzanite on the M340i.

I had seen an M4 on the forum in twilight purple and fell in love with it, I wound up placing my order in mid October, and just took delivery today.

Here’s a few pics my lease broker who’s a good friend of mine took today when it was dropped off.

A few more exterior mods to come when I get to drop off the car at oneighty, and I’ll update my original post with it.

The color is absolutely stunning and beautiful in person and it pops in the sunlight perfectly. The front of the car with the color looks super aggressive and I love the way the color looks at all angles..very excited to be part of the G20 community.[IMG][/IMG]

BMW B58 3.0L Engine Named 2020 Wards 10 Best Engine and Powertrain Award Winner

2nd consecutive Wards 10 Best Engine award for BMW B58 3.0-liter engine.
10th Wards 10 Best Engine award for BMW Turbo 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – Jan. 17, 2020…Today, BMW is proud to be named one of WardsAuto’s 2020 10 Best Engines and Powertrains Award winners for the 382 hp B58 TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter Inline six-cylinder tuned by BMW M powering the 2020 BMW M340i Sedan, Z4 M40i Roadster and the X3 M40i and X4 M40i Sports Activity Vehicles. The latest iteration of BMW’s iconic six-cylinder inline engine produces 382 hp @ 5,800 – 6,500 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 1,800 – 5,000 rpm. Performance and efficiency are not mutually exclusive as this six-cylinder version of BMW’s modular family of engines allows the M340i xDrive Sedan to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds while still returning 30 mpg highway.

This updated award winning 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine features an aluminum crankcase and cylinder head. A new single Twin-scroll turbocharger with an integral, compact, steel exhaust manifold and impellers that weight approximately 25% less than those of preceding models, builds boost pressure more rapidly. Fuel is supplied by means of new High Precision Injection technology which allows injection pressures up to 5,076 psi. The current version of M TwinPower Turbo technology also features VALVETRONIC fully variable valve control and Double VANOS variable camshaft control.

Accepting the award on behalf of everyone at BMW who has worked tirelessly and passionately to bring the new engine to production was Ralph Mahler, Head of Product Planning and Strategy for BMW of North America. “The inline six-cylinder engine has been the heart and soul of the Ultimate Driving Machine for over eighty years.” said Mahler. “Every new updated version continues to improve the engine’s refinement, smoothness, power delivery and efficiency; all traits which are valued by our customers today and without doubt for many more years to come. We are extremely grateful and thankful for this recognition by the WardsAutos jurors.”

BMW’s inline six-cylinder passenger car engine history began 87 years ago with a 1.2 liter 30 hp version powering the BMW 303 sedan. Today, as one of the most versatile engines in the modern BMW lineup, the 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine configuration can be found powering vehicles from almost every BMW model line, with versions from 335 hp up to 503 hp.

“We tested this B58 inline six-cylinder turbo a year ago in the larger X5 and it won, with 335 hp.” said Tom Murphy, WardsAuto Managing Editor. “Now, just a year later, it comes to us in the all-new 3-Series, which is quite a bit lighter, with an extra 47 hp. The B58 was great then – it’s even better now. Stretching its legs, the M340i exhibits a glorious, throaty exhaust note, especially when cycling through gears with paddle shifters. This engine is remarkably flexible, great for daily driving and thrilling under a heavy foot.”

Carwow – BMW M340i v Audi S4 Diesel v AMG E53 v Volvo S60 Polestar Drag Race

Holy mother of god, that 340i is really freaking impressive. When I saw the BHP and torque numbers I thought the BMW didn’t stand a chance at winning the race, but it took off like a spaceship! I’m not really into racing, but watching this made my heart warm. I don’t have a 340i, but knowing that we’re in the same family is good enough to feel happy after watching this video

I didn’t really stay on stage one for very long. I did my factory break-in, then did stage one for a few days, and went straight to stage two.

I can say there’s a massive difference from stock to stage two. I’m sure if I switched back to stage one I could feel a noticeable difference though.

Alex at Mission Performance has been great helping me with switching things up on the tune remotely as well.

I agree. Hoping to get some paint matched reflectors soon.
Also really jealous that we don’t get the laserlights in the US as well. The DRL’s on these light are not great.

Thank you though!
